This past weekend Tabor’s Annual Winter Concert took place on Saturday morning, December 13, from 10:30 to noon. The program moved smoothly and ended up being a great way to start the weekend. Each ensemble brought something unique to the performance, which kept the audience engaged throughout.
The Winter Concert opened with the Madrigals, whose performance set a calm yet uplifting tone for the morning. Their performance was a testament to how much work they had put into preparing their pieces. There were a few solo parts, sung by Campbell Strong, Jovie Segalini, and Sophie Chatfield. After the Madrigals, the String Ensemble performed, bringing a different but fun energy to the stage. Their sound was expressive, containing multi-genre songs, and there was even a common Christmas one in the mix. The variety of dynamics made it interesting to listen to.
Next, the Wind Ensemble took the stage. This group added power and excitement to the concert, especially with the inclusion of percussion. Hearing the drums incorporated into the pieces was a highlight for sure, as it added slight intensity that made the music feel larger.
At the end of the concert, each group came together for a combined performance. Ending with everyone on stage felt like a strong way to close the show. Overall, the Winter Concert was very well done and showcased the talent and dedication of each person, making it a memorable event.
