Stanley G. Welsh Library: Jack Smith ‘27
What is your favorite study spot on campus?
My favorite study spot is the library.
Why is it your favorite spot?
I like that everyone is focused and that it is quiet with few distractions.
What about this area appeals to you that other spots do not offer?
The library offers many different spots to study, such as the study rooms, study pods, and the area in the middle, which is great for working with a bunch of different people.
When is the best time of day to study here?
I like to study during the study hall at night. I think it is more focused and less distracting because you are supposed to only study during that time, which encourages you to get all your work done.
Dunkin’: Caroline Calista ‘26
What is your favorite study spot on campus?
My favorite study spot around campus is Dunkin’.
Why is it your favorite spot?
I like getting a walk in on the way, while also getting a change of scenery. It is quiet enough to focus, but it’s also busy enough to talk to someone. I have been going there over the years, and it has developed into a routine, where we have discovered our ideal tables to sit at.
What about this area appeals to you that other spots do not offer?
They have fun drinks and snacks to enjoy while you are getting your work done, and it is also just nice to switch up the location.
When is the best time of day to study here?
I prefer to go after classes and co-curriculars because you can just grab your bag and walk over. On the walk, it’s nice to chat with friends and unwind. It is nice to get work done earlier in the night.
Dorm Room: Angelica Smith ‘27
What is your favorite study spot on campus?
My favorite spot is on my dorm room floor.
Why is it your favorite spot?
When I am studying, I like to spread out my materials a lot, and on my desk, I don’t have enough space, and on my bed, everything is uneven.
What about this area appeals to you that other spots do not offer?
The floor of my room is in my room, so I can be alone or with my roommate. It also allows me to take up as much space as I need without being in anyone else’s way.
When is the best time of the day to study here?
I would say either in the middle of the day, on the weekends, or at night. I like to just sit on the floor and get my work done before the study hall begins.
Fishbowl: Abby Berkov ‘26
What is your favorite study spot on campus?
My favorite study spot on campus is definitely the fishbowl because I love to socialize and chit-chat.
Why is it your favorite spot?
I would say now, especially, because we don’t have our phones, that the fishbowl is a great place to congregate because it is in the middle of everything in the Academic Center.
What about this area appeals to you that other spots do not offer?
The fishbowl, compared to the student center, is more convenient as it is already in the academic center, which is where all my classes are located, so naturally, I pass by it between every class.
When is the best time of day to study here?
The best time, in my opinion, is during my open block because it does get busy during office hours, making it hard to focus. During my open, I can still say hi to friends as they walk by and study simultaneously.
