Girls Varsity Basketball
The Tabor Girls Varsity Basketball was out of this world. The girls won by 53 points with an overall win of 87-34 against Governors Academy. The women were competitive and quick on their feet throughout the whole game. Taking the lead at half time, the women continued to dominate and work together during the second half. The victory win was not the only thing the girls’ celebrated: KK Carroll’ 25 was named Mcdonald’s All American for her outstanding basketball achievements. At the end of the game, the school came together to honor KK and her achievements and created a positive momentum for the rest of the night.
Boys Varsity Hockey
The Seawolves battled hard against a determined St. Sebastian’s squad, securing a well-earned victory in a rematch after falling to them earlier in the season. Victor Desrochers ‘25 put TA on the board early with a goal off a setup from Leo Kavey ‘26. The game remained a tight defensive battle until the final minutes when St. Sebastian’s, pressing for an equalizer, pulled their goalie on a power play. Adam Quinn ‘25 took advantage, muscling past a defender to extend the lead. Ethan Travis ‘27 put the game away with an empty-net goal, assisted by Declan Kelly ‘25 and Olivier Benoit ‘26. Meanwhile, Vinnie D’Urso ‘27 was unbeatable in net, turning away all 30 shots he faced for a shutout. The Seawolves now look ahead to their next challenge at St. George’s on Friday, February 21.
Girls Varsity Hockey
Tabor Academy’s Girls Varsity Hockey team faced off against BB&N in a competitive matchup, but despite a strong effort, they fell 5-2. BB&N came out fast, establishing an early lead, but Tabor responded with a goal from Jennifer Birolini ‘26, who capitalized on a rebound to put her team on the board. Juliana Goffredo ‘28 added another for the Seawolves, showcasing her skill with a well-placed shot. However, BB&N maintained control for most of the game, using their speed and offensive pressure to secure the win. Tabor fought hard until the final whistle but couldn’t close the gap, as BB&N’s defense held strong in the closing minutes.
TIBL
In a thrilling and light-hearted match-up between the Rim Reapers and the Dunkin Donuts, the Donuts came out on top with the win. Offense and defense on both teams worked well together to block shots and carry them to the net. The Dunkin Donuts are a competitive bunch that took every opportunity to score points when they could. The Rim Reapers are quick and witty with their fast and clean passes. Good job, TIBL!
