Family Weekend is just around the corner—starting right after school Thursday, October 16. It’s an opportunity to show families around campus and share what it’s like to be a student at Tabor. Best of all, students get a long weekend break before returning to campus for class on Wednesday, October 22. Here’s a quick rundown of what to expect.
The weekend kicks off Thursday night with students hosting their families for milk and cookies in the dorms. After that, there will be Dorm Wars on the turf while families have the opportunity to enjoy evening s’mores.
Friday morning is all about academics, but only for parents. They’ll follow their students’ class schedules and meet teachers during mini classes. Fear not, classes are for parents only. Students will, however, join parents for advisory conferences to check in and talk about how the year is going. While students attend practices and co-curriculars in the afternoon, families will have the chance to sail on the Tabor Boy, check out the Tabor 150 Art Show, and attend a few other meetings.
The whole community will come together on Friday night, so plan on grabbing dinner at the cookout near the turf fields. Then get ready to be loud as Tabor cheers on the football team under the lights against Belmont Hill. The night will end with a bonfire and s’mores by the waterfront. Students are excited to enjoy time with their families, have a great long weekend, and get some rest!
