The Winter Musical cast is putting in tremendous work for their upcoming show, Singin’ In the Rain. The musical is set in Hollywood, California, in the late 1920s. The story portrays the transition in the film industry from silent films to “talkies,” with movie stars struggling to adapt to this rapid change. Don Lockwood, played by Leon Stanley ‘25, is a movie star who plays the role of a romantic interest for his co-star, Lina Lamont, played by Chloe Kim ‘25. Don, a charismatic movie star, falls for an inspiring actress, Kathy Selden, played by Katelyn Craig ‘25. Meanwhile, Lina’s feelings for Don aren’t just on screen but in real life as well. So, she does everything she can to keep Don and Kathy apart.
The twist in the musical is that it includes movie star’s former films intertwined with the show! Therefore, the cast has been working hard to master their dance steps, singing notes, and lines while also recording films.
