Drama:
This Wednesday, the cast and crew of the Fall Drama She Kills Monsters had a productive rehearsal in Hoyt’s Black Box theater. The cast, led by stage manager Sue Zhao ‘26 and director Ms. Hawley, have just blocked the last scene of the show and are ready to focus on refinements. They wrapped up rehearsal by discussing curtain call music and running through some more scenes. The cast is now preparing for a full, off-script run-through scheduled this Friday. On the tech side, the crew is busy replacing the regular Black Box lights with custom-designed lighting for the production. With progress moving swiftly, anticipation is building!
Dance:
Tabor’s Dance Team has been hard at work, blending contemporary and hip-hop styles in a dynamic practice session. They have been diving into a piece inspired by Euphoria, channeling the show’s emotional intensity and powerful storytelling through movement. Each dancer has embraced the challenge of balancing fluid, expressive contemporary elements with the sharp, rhythmic beats of hip-hop, creating a truly captivating performance.
Art :
There is a small group of artists in the Braitmayer who tackle large projects that you can’t take as a class. The work varies from the art of metal-smithing and making jewelry to painting with different materials. The art co-curricular is an opportunity for students to express themselves in the form of art without the beyond what might be possible in a structured art class.
Ceramics:
The after-school ceramics group’s skill vary–from intro skills to AT level – but the whole group works towards one goal: making a gallery-worthy piece. It is a relaxed time for students to pursue their creativity in an environment free of grades—and the stress that can accompany them.
Music:
Yesterday in Applied Music, students practiced individually, coming together later in the afternoon to listen to each other’s pieces and provide feedback. Sage Ding ‘26 played the harp and collaborated with Tan Polpaisal ‘26 on a second piece. Benjamin Kuo ’25 played the violin; Alan Ji ’25 asked for ideas for refining the piece he played at Chapel last Monday. The Applied Music students are working hard for their upcoming performance: Tuesday, November 5, at 6:30 pm in the Chapel.
